Founded in 1974 by John Marie Ndianatuegwu (OSB) at Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, with approval from Bishop Godfrey Mary Paul Okoye.

A Purgatorian Society Rooted in Prayer, Penance, and Divine Mercy

We are a Catholic apostolate dedicated to the holy souls in Purgatory—the Church Suffering—who await the joy of Heaven but can no longer help themselves. Inspired by the scriptural call to “pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins” (2 Maccabees 12:46), we unite the faithful in a chain of spiritual charity: offering Masses, rosaries, sacrifices, and indulgences to expedite their purification.
